Bold Text Generator
Type your text and copy it back in several bold Unicode styles. Since these are real characters rather than formatting, the bold sticks when you paste it into Instagram captions, LinkedIn posts, Discord messages, or anywhere formatting buttons do not exist.
Every style below rewrites as you type. Tap Copy to take one.
How it works
- 01 Enter the text you want to bold.
- 02 Compare the serif, sans, italic, script, and fraktur bold versions.
- 03 Copy your pick and paste it wherever you need bold text.
Why you cannot just type bold
Most social platforms strip formatting on purpose. Paste bold text from a document into an Instagram caption and it arrives plain, because platforms store text without style information. This tool routes around that. Unicode's Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block contains separate bold alphabets, each bold letter being its own character with its own codepoint. Swap your letters for those and the boldness travels with the text itself.
The styles on offer
Serif bold looks like bolded book type. Sans-serif bold matches the clean look of most app interfaces and is usually the safest pick for social bios. The two bold italic variants add slant, and bold script and bold fraktur push into decorative territory. If you want the non-bold versions of those last two, try the cursive text generator and the gothic text generator.
Where it works, and where to be careful
Bold Unicode pastes cleanly into Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Discord, WhatsApp, and YouTube. Two cautions. First, username fields on most platforms reject these characters, so keep bold to display names and bios. Second, on LinkedIn and other professional feeds, remember that screen readers stumble over these characters, so a fully bolded post can be unreadable for some of your audience. Bold a few words, not whole paragraphs.
One more distinction: this tool makes bold text for places you cannot install fonts. If you are building a logo, a thumbnail, or a sign, use an actual heavy typeface instead. Our logo fonts collection has bold display faces verified free for commercial use.

Questions
Does bold text work on LinkedIn and Instagram?
Yes, in posts, bios, and comments on both. Use it sparingly on LinkedIn: bolding whole paragraphs hurts readability for screen reader users, and long runs of bold Unicode can look off in professional feeds.
Why does the bold survive pasting when normal bold does not?
Normal bold is formatting stored separately from the text, and platforms strip it. These bold letters are distinct Unicode characters whose boldness is part of the character itself, so there is nothing to strip.
Which bold style is safest to use?
Sans-serif bold. It matches the interface fonts of most apps and has broad glyph support, so it rarely shows up as boxes. Bold fraktur and bold script are more decorative but slightly less widely supported.
Can I make my username bold?
Usually not. Most platforms restrict usernames to plain letters and numbers. Display names are more permissive, so put the bold there instead.
