Upside Down Text Generator
Type normally and get your text flipped on its head, plus a mirrored version that runs backwards. The flip is done with Unicode characters that happen to look like inverted letters, so you can copy the result and paste it anywhere text goes.
Every style below rewrites as you type. Tap Copy to take one.
How it works
- 01 Type your text the normal way up.
- 02 Check the upside-down and mirrored outputs below.
- 03 Copy the flipped text and paste it into your chat or bio.
How text gets flipped without rotating anything
No text field can rotate characters, so this tool cheats. Unicode contains thousands of characters from dozens of writing systems and technical notations, and scattered among them are glyphs that resemble upside-down Latin letters: the turned letters linguists use in phonetic notation (ə is the famous one, an upside-down e used for the schwa sound), plus lookalikes borrowed from other alphabets. Flip each letter to its closest inverted twin, reverse the string so it reads correctly when rotated, and the whole line appears upside down. Mirrored text works the same way with left-right reversed lookalikes.
An approximation, honestly
Because the tool depends on existing characters, some flips are perfect and some are near misses. Letters like o, x, and s survive inversion unchanged; others map to lookalikes from phonetic notation or non-Latin scripts that are close but not exact. Mirrored text has fewer good matches than upside-down, so expect it to look rougher. That imperfection is part of the charm, but it means flipped text is for jokes and bios, not for anything that must be read reliably.
Where it works
Flipped text pastes into Discord, Reddit, Instagram bios and comments, TikTok captions, X posts, and text messages. It is a classic prank format: an upside-down reply reads as gibberish until someone tilts their phone. Username fields typically reject the borrowed characters. The extra styles here (mild zalgo, fullwidth, spaced, small caps) cover the same "make my text weird" territory; for full corruption, use the glitch text generator.

Questions
Does upside down text work on Reddit and Discord?
Yes, both render the phonetic and borrowed characters that make up flipped text. It also works in Instagram bios and comments and in most chat apps. Usernames are the usual exception.
Why does flipped text display on every device?
Because nothing is actually rotated. Every character in the output is a standard Unicode character from phonetics or another writing system that merely looks inverted, so any text renderer can draw it.
Why do some letters look wrong when flipped?
Unicode has no dedicated upside-down alphabet, so the tool uses the closest existing lookalike for each letter. Most map well; a few, especially in the mirrored style, are approximations.
Can people search for or copy my flipped text?
They can copy it, but search treats it as the unrelated characters it really is, not as your original words. A flipped word will not match searches for the normal spelling.
