Fortnite Fonts Generator

Type a name and copy a styled version for your Epic display name. Below the tool we cover the honest part: which characters actually render inside Fortnite and which turn into boxes.

Every style below rewrites as you type. Tap Copy to take one.

How it works

  1. 01 Type the display name you want, keeping Epic's 16 character limit in mind.
  2. 02 Pick a simpler style: small caps and fullwidth have the best in-game survival rate.
  3. 03 Paste it into your Epic account's display name field, save, and check it in a match.

How Fortnite display names actually work

Your Fortnite name is your Epic Games display name, changed on your Epic account page, not inside the game. It is capped at 16 characters, which arrives fast when styled Unicode is involved, and Epic limits how often you can change it. Some styled characters paste fine into the account page, but the in-game font does not include glyphs for every Unicode block, so what looks right on the website can appear as empty boxes in the lobby and kill feed. No generator can get around that: it depends on which characters the game's font covers on your platform.

Which styles tend to survive in-game

Plainer transformations survive best: small caps, fullwidth letters, and characters from widely supported blocks. Heavily decorated styles and stacked combining marks are the most likely to be stripped at save time or to render as boxes for other players. The common "sweaty" names you see in lobbies usually rely on a small set of well-supported lookalike characters rather than whole styled alphabets. Our advice: pick a style, save it, then check how it looks in an actual match before settling, because console, PC, and mobile can render the same name differently.

Looking for the actual Fortnite font?

If you searched "fortnite font" wanting the typeface from the logo and UI for thumbnails or stream overlays, that is a different thing: the game uses a commercial font family (Burbank) that is not free to use. For a similar bold, game-ready look that is verified free for commercial use, browse our logo fonts and pixel fonts categories. Every font there is safe for YouTube thumbnails and merch.

Questions

Why does my styled name show as boxes in Fortnite?

The game's font does not include glyphs for every Unicode block. Characters it cannot draw render as empty boxes, and coverage differs between PC, console, and mobile. Simpler styles like small caps and fullwidth have the best odds.

Why was part of my name removed when I saved it?

Epic filters display names against its own character rules and a 16 character limit. Characters outside the allowed set are stripped or the save is rejected. That is Epic's whitelist at work, not a copy error.

Can I get banned for using a styled name?

Using Unicode characters in a display name is not against Epic's rules by itself. Names still have to pass Epic's content rules, and impersonation or offensive names can be forced to change regardless of styling.

Can I use these styles in Fortnite chat?

In-game text chat has the same font-coverage problem as names, so unsupported characters show as boxes there too. Discord renders far more styles if that is where your squad talks.
