About Calibri

Calibri was designed by Lucas de Groot as part of Microsoft's ClearType font collection and became the default font in Microsoft Office in 2007, replacing Times New Roman. Microsoft describes it as an extremely readable sans with traditional letter shapes and rounded stroke ends that give it a comfortable, friendly feel in long text.

For more than fifteen years Calibri was the font of billions of Word documents, emails and slide decks, which is why it is so familiar. Microsoft has since moved Office to a new default, but Calibri still ships with Windows and remains a common choice for reports, letters and forms.
