About Ghastly Panic

Ghastly Panic was hand-lettered by Chad Savage of Sinister Fonts in 2005. According to the designer's own notes, he drew it while watching the 2004 remake of Dawn of the Dead, and it shows: the letters are tall and thin, with jagged edges and long strokes that drip below the baseline like scratches on a wall.

The font has capitals only, so typing in lowercase gives you the same letters. It is made for short, loud display text such as horror movie titles, Halloween party flyers, haunted house signs, gaming thumbnails and band artwork. As the designer says, it will look awful in a paragraph, so keep it big and keep it short.

Where Ghastly Panic works best

  • Horror movie titles and posters
  • Halloween flyers and invitations
  • Haunted house and escape room signs
  • Gaming thumbnails and band artwork
